Board and Standing Committee Meetings

The Board usually meets on the third Thursday of each month, except when meetings are adjusted to accommodate the holidays. A simple majority of Board members may agree to meet on another day.

Special meetings of the Board may be held upon call of the President. The President shall call a special meeting whenever requested to do so by a majority of the total members of the Board. Standing Committee meetings are held prior (Monday - Wednesday) to the monthly Board meeting (Thursday).

Standing Committees are composed of not less than three members of the Board and are appointed by the President. Special meetings of a standing Committee may be held upon the call of the Committee Chairman. The Committee Chairman shall call a special meeting whenever requested to do so by a majority of the total named members of the Committee.

All meetings of the Board and its Committees are conducted according to the provisions of the State's open meetings laws. The Board also complies with all provisions of the State's public records laws.

All meetings are conducted in conformance with state law, Board policy (see Chapter 3 of the Louisiana Administrative Code Vol. l8, Title 28), and Roberts Rules of Order.

By law, six members of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, and all official actions of the Board shall require the favorable vote of the majority of the total membership.
