Act 54 Brochure

This brochure provides a brief overview of Act 54.  The legislation, which will be fully implemented in the 2012-2013 school year, was passed by lawmakers in 2010 and calls for the development and implementation of a new evaluation system for all educators, including measures of student growth, which will account for 50 percent of the comprehensive performance evaluation.  This publication emphasizes the intent of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), state legislators, and the Louisiana Department of Education to provide educators and other stakeholders with the opportunity to engage in the development, implementation, and revision of the new performance model.   The brochure also includes answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as the timeline for implementation.
